Funeral services were scheduled today for Ellie M. Hout a retired house painter, who died; Wednesday in a Los Altos Convalescent Hospital after a short· illness. He was 79
Hout had lived on the Mid-peninsula for 19 years. His last home was at 1033 Crestview Drive, Mountain View.
His wife, Marjorie, died in April.
Hout was born in Ashland, Wis. He lived and worked as a house painter in a number of Midwestern cities, primarily in, Minnesota. He worked five years as a painter for Westinghouse Corp. in Sunnyvale before retiring.
Hout was a member of the Sunnyvale Masonic Lodge and· of Little House of Menlo Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Field · and Mrs. Dee L. Strom, both o, f Mountain View: a sister, Mrs. Daisy Botsford of Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were to take. Place at the Hays Funeral Home, Cuesta Drive at Miramonte Avenue, Mountain View. Inurnment was set for Alta Mesa Cemetery, Palo Alto.

MOUNTAIN VIEW - Rites have been held for Ellie M. Hout, 79, a retired interior decorator who died Wednesday in a Los Altos convalescent hospital of a short illness.
He was a county resident for 20 years and lived at 1033 Crestview drive.
Hout last worked as a painter for give years at Westinghouse.
He was a member of Sunnyvale Masonic Lodge 511.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Field and Mrs. Dee L. Strom, both of Mountain View; a sister, Mrs. Daisy Botsford. He was the grandfather of four; great-grandfather of four.
