ETER WEGEMER SR. PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING

LIFE-LONG RESIDENT IS CLAIMED BY DEATH

Peter Paul Wegemer, Sr., of West Mill Street, a lifelong resident of this city, passed away at the local hospital this morning at 7:45 a.m., suffering from a complication of diseases.

Mr. Wegemer had been ailing since the latter part of August but was not confined to bed until Friday of last week. Previous to this illness he had never known a day of sickness.

He was admitted to the hospital on November 13th and little hope was held out for his recovery.

All of the members of his family were at his bedside when the end came this morning.

Mr. Wegemer was born on Theresia Road, February 16th, 1850, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wegemer, both deceased, and was nearing his 76th birthday.

He entered the contracting business when he grew to manhood and was an active worker until a few months ago.

In January 1873 he was married to Miss. Catherine Auman. Thirteen children were born to bless the union, four of whom have preceded their father to the grave.

The deceased was an active member of St. Joseph’s Society and members of this organization will attend the funeral.

Besides his widow, he is survived by five sons: Frank G., John F., Joseph G., Albert G., and Peter G., all of St. Marys; four daughters, Catherine, (Mrs. Phillip Finkler) Toledo, Ohio, Bertha, (Mrs. J. B. Creagh) Salamanca, Anna, (Mrs. E. A. Casperson) Buffalo and Mary, (Mrs. Fred Gerg) of town.

Two brothers also survive, Frank and Casper, of Petoskey, Michigan.

Twenty-nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held from St. Marys Church Tuesday morning at nine o’clock.
