Brent Kevin Wickett, 78, a native of St. Marys, died Friday, March 24, 2017 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

He was born June 13, 1939 in St. Marys, a son of the late Leonard and Delores Heiberger Wickett.

Brent was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp owned by his family.

He enjoyed watching and playing baseball, and he enjoyed cooking. Brent was an outstanding carpenter and his specialty was cabinet making. He also knew just about everything in car repairs.

Brent was a regular attendee at the evening Mass each weekday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in West Palm Beach. He would help to lead the rosary and stay for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy (a series of prayers like the rosary) after Mass each day. He was a member of the Legion of Mary, and when he was able, he would come to the church early before daily evening Mass and perform duties of a Sacristan. He was very dedicated and devoted to his duties at Holy Name of Jesus and was popular with the regular Mass attendees.

He is survived by his five children, Leonard Leo and Mark Steven, both from West Palm Beach, Florida, Michael John of Lima, Ohio, Wendy Ann of Rushville, Indiana and Debbie Marie of Poway, California; three grandchildren, Danielle Sheldon, wife of Chris Roeder of Lima, Ohio, Leanne Sheldon of Erie and Mark Wickett Jr. of Austin, Texas; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary of Longmont, Colorado; three sisters: Myrna, wife of the late Louis Elia of Naples, Florida, Janice, wife of Clarence Ruberto Jr. and Arlene, wife of Donald Vollmer, both of St. Marys; as well as by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Leonard John and Delores Heiberger Wickett, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Wickett; and his sister, Susan Wickett Pasquinelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Brent Kevin Wickett will be celebrated Wednesday, April 5 at noon at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, Pa. 15857 with Rev. Jeff Noble, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
