Daniel Plavney, 39, of 629 Wood St., New Bethlehem, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville, Following an extended illness.
He was born May 24, 1956 in Kittanning.
Mr. Plavney was employed for the Timber View Middle School in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he was a middle school teacher until being disabled in 1993.
He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, New Bethlehem.
He was a Class of 1974 graduate of Redbank Valley High School. In 1978, he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
He served with the United States Air Force for right years and also received a master's degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1987.
He is survived by one son, Eli G. Plavney and one daughter, Jenny R. Plavney, both of Colorado Springs, Colo; his mother and stepfather Howard (Sam) and Margaret R. (Wurm) Kunselman Jr.; his birth father, Fred M. Plavney of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Christopher Plavney of Cary, N.C. and Howard S. Kunselman III, serving with the United States Army in Korea; one sister, Laura L. Lankford of Ashford, Conn.; and his paternal grandparents, Mike and Leona Plavney of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Birdie Wurm.
PLAVNEY - Friends of Daniel Plavney, 39, of 629 Wood St., New Bethlehem, who died Sept. 28, 1995, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Rupert Funeral Home, 301 Penn St., New Bethlehem. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Charles Catholic Church, New Bethlehem with the Rev. Thomas Tyler, Officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Charles Catholic Church, New Bethlehem. Arrangements by Rupert.
